“A Declaration of Right Now” (on the urgency of #SayHerName)
by Angela Mack
If there is a time to really think about what’s really going on?
It’s in a time that is called right now.
Right now?
Right. Now.
If there was ever a time for a voice to speak for the justice that is needed for Black women and Black girls who suffer violence, it is, in this,
Right now.
Justice is especially needed here in Fort Worth, Texas,
as we await for the accountability and the redress for our very own Atatiana Jefferson.
Right now is the time. Now is the Right time. The right time is now. The now time is right.
For Black women. Black girls. Black gender expansive people.
For our very own Atatiana Jefferson.
Because violence is the suffering.
Because justice is in the needing.
And the pleading to be seen, heard, and for action is in…
THE RIGHT NOW.
